The items below are free to download and print. They are intended as resources for WordPlay drama students as they develop their skills as communicators and performers. Scripts may be used for educational settings without asking for permission. They may be used for auditions and performed in non-commercial settings. Monologues

When setting out to learn and perform a monologue you are tasked with reading and interpreting the script, developing a character - their motives and intentions - memorising the content, practicing and enhancing your delivery, and, ultimately, sharing your creativity with an audience (even if it's an audience of one!). It is a great way to challenge yourself and grow your skills.

Poems

Poetry performances provide rich opportunity for thoughtful expression, creativity and fun! While similar to monologues, poems can be easier to memorise and do not necessarily require the performer to adopt a character. Whether you immerse yourself as a player in the world of the poem, hold the poem aloft as something examined by you and the audience, interact with the poem as if it is narrating itself, or... some other wonderful idea, we can't wait to see the performance you create!
