When setting out to learn and perform a monologue you are tasked with reading and interpreting the script, developing a character - their motives and intentions - memorising the content, practicing and enhancing your delivery, and, ultimately, sharing your creativity with an audience (even if it's an audience of one!). It is a great way to challenge yourself and grow your skills.
Poetry performances provide rich opportunity for thoughtful expression, creativity and fun! While similar to monologues, poems can be easier to memorise and do not necessarily require the performer to adopt a character. Whether you immerse yourself as a player in the world of the poem, hold the poem aloft as something examined by you and the audience, interact with the poem as if it is narrating itself, or... some other wonderful idea, we can't wait to see the performance you create!
